The "Log Encounter" feature allows users to develop a spatial record of encounters with specific clients on the Outreach Grid platform. To record an encounter, navigate to the Client's profile page. Click the button labelled, "Log Encounter", located to the right of the screen.
There are two ways that encounters can be logged. If the encounter occurs at a known camp that has previously been logged in the Outreach Grid platform, you can choose the appropriate camp on the map by selecting "Camp" from the drop down menu. If you are unsure about the name of the camp, you can use the map tools to locate the balloon for appropriate camp on the map, and then tap the balloon to find the camp name.
If the encounter occurs at a location that is not a camp in the Outreach Grid platform, you can use the map to select the location of the encounter by selecting "Other" from the drop down menu. Zoom in on the map and drag the blue circle to the appropriate location, or if geolocation services are enabled on your device, you can select the navigation signal to pinpoint the location, and then drop a pin where the encounter occurred.
Once the location has been entered, click the green "Set Encounter" button to complete logging the encounter. You will then be navigated to a page that lists assessments available to conduct for the client. You'll note a green bar at the top of the page declaring to go to the client's private profile assessments, if looking for more assessments. Should you not wish to conduct an assessment with the client, you can navigate back to the client's profile by clicking on the client's name in the upper right corner.
Viewing Previous Encounters and Locations
Locational information about a client can be found on the client's profile. The "Locations" tab houses locational data about previous encounters with the client that have been recorded by users on the platform. On the left is a list of those encounters and when they occurred. To the right is a map of those encounters so that you can visualize them spatially.
This page is also where you can set and find any "BOLO Alerts" for this client.
