Outreach Grid employs several tools to aid in the entry of information on the platform. One of those tools is is the Date Picker. This Date Picker tool prevents the entry of invalid dates into the platform, making sure that all submissions are as accurate as possible.

The Date Picker

When filling in a submission box that requires a date as an entry, a calendar of the current month will pop up with the current date highlighted. This calendar can be separated into two parts: the top bar that serves as the index(highlighted in red in the image below), and the bottom half where you make your selections.

Choosing a date with the date picker works chronologically by level. By clicking the center of the index bar, you are able to zoom out by time. Upon first clicking the index, an overview of the current year will pop up with all twelve months available for selection. Clicking the index again, will allow you to see the full year by month. Users can then navigate to the month of their choosing. To change the year, click the index bar once again, and you will be shown a calendar of the 5 years prior to the current year, and the 6 years in the future. To navigate to prior years, click the left arrow in the index bar, and select the year of your choosing.
